A few posts ago I was shocked that it was October already, and now we’re entering, or have already entered January.  Things have been keeping us very busy at Venue.  Today we put up our newest featured artist, Bekah Ash.  We are very excited about her work and the contemporary nature of her portraiture.

Some events that we have hosted in the recent past:

Ambient Holiday Party – we had so much fun with this jazz fusion group as they played some jazz and Christmas classics.

New Years Eve Bash – What a fun night!  We had a beautiful multi-course dinner prepared for our guests and then enjoyed sparkling wine flight and sparkling wine toast at midnight.  Luke Quanstrom delighted us with some fantastic covers during dinner and then DJ Mark Jones stole the show from 10:30 on.  We will be posting pictures from the event very soon.

Outside the Square – This was probably our biggest event over the Holiday and our most publicized.  Because of the creative and motivated mind of Shannon Moore, this event ended up on the radio, in the Journal Star (multiple times), and even on the news (channels 19 and 25).  I wish I could say that Steph and I planned the whole thing and were the ones that got all of those news spots, but that would be crazy.  Shannon took this event and ran with it, and anyone who was there would say that it was the best event we’ve had at Venue so far.  If you want to read more about this even more about this event you can check out last Sunday’s paper where a giant picture of Shannon in front of Jean Filson’s work flanked the front page of the Arts section.  We were so proud and can’t wait to send it to our mothers!  You can also read the article at Peoria Journal Star Article.
