Well, after five weeks of insanity, Venue is ready to open its doors this weekend. Sure there are tons of things we wished we had finished, like the floor, the wine bar (it IS a wine social and all), etc., but hey. We’re ready to let everybody in on what a cool place Venue is and the rest will come together sooner or later.

Some highlights of our last couple of months:
Steph decides she’s not doing Venue because it would be crazy.
Tiff decides she’s doing Venue.
Steph says “ok.”

And here we are.

What do the two of us know about starting a new business? Well, as it turns out, not much. But what we do have is a lot of hope, some fabulous ideas, fantastic support, and a gorgeous space.

Some early thank yous: Jeff and Julia Woods for the amazing opportunity and their vision (including all renovations of Venue), Dustin for his sweet logo and other mod designs, Kenji for his man power and IKEA skills, both of them for their unwavering support and confidence in their ladies.
Brett for carrying 40 tons of stuff up the largest staircase in the world, Dawn, Jackie and everyone else who has pitched in.

Some upcoming highlights: Our soft opening next weekend (Aug. 22) featuring the sweet folksy tunz of Dustin’s cousin Peter Adriel.
Tiff and Steph meet with Steve King of Specialty Imports to start to put together our wine menu.
August 23: Dennis Slape and Abby’s wedding: our first big event!
